This year’s conference will take place on Friday 8 June 2018 in Madrid. If you are interested in joining, please save the date and sign up for news. We will inform you about the programme, speakers, fees and further details in due time.

As we did last year in Lisbon we opt for a formula with keynote speakers and workshops and will work with 3 tracks.

Track 1: Polarization / the new normal?  Are we facing a society were fake news, mass manipulation techniques and propaganda are the norm?

Track 2: Cyber challenges / can we be prepared?  Our fast moving digitizing environment is challenging us all. How can we benefit, and yet be safe navigating this cyber future?

Track 3: Business, crisis and resilience / Today’s managers live in the fast track! All management feels like crisis management. What are the lessons to be learned?

The aim of these workshops is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners in risk management, crisis management, risk communication, crisis communication or any other domain related to risk and crisis. They are a platform to share knowledge and reflect on each other’s  work and offer a unique opportunity to work together with worldwide peers.

The year 2017 is looking equally or possibly even more interesting! Next to be invited to new member-only webinars (live or recorded video on demand), as a renewed member you will be eligible for a discounted rate when joining the 4rd International CIP Conference in Lisbon (16 June 2017). This year, the conference will focus not only on a high level of interactivity, it is also our ambition to generate “workshop deliverables” to be co-created and shared with the members during the conference and afterwards. This can be anything from a member webinar, a small report or a short paper, to a blog post, a diagram, mind map, etc.

As before, the contribution for your renewal is €50 and valid for a membership period until 31 December 2017.

Very excited about our upcoming event, we look forward to welcoming you at our 4th international conference on “Managing Crises Today – Insights On Dealing With Complexity”. This year’s conference will take place on Friday 16 June 2017 8.30am-5pm at the University of Lisbon – Faculdade de Psicologia. Since our formula of keynote speakers and workshops was highly appreciated by the attendees of our past conferences, we are continuing on the same path. Our ambition this year is to provide even more participation during interactive workshops since this remains one of the main suggestions by the attendees of past editions. The aim of these workshops is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners in risk management, crisis management, risk communication, crisis communication or any other domain related to risk and crisis.

Workshop: Resilience and Crisis

One of the six workshops that are part of our CIP Conference 2015 on 3 July 2015 in the University of Amsterdam.

The climate change adaptation and the higher frequency and financial consequences of disasters, are amongst the factors that boost the utilization of the concept of resilience way beyond its original scientific definition.

At the CIP Conference in Amsterdam on Friday 3 July 2015 we will feature a number of 90-minute workshops or presentations. The aim of these workshops is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners in risk management, crisis management, risk communication, crisis communication and other domains related to the CIP framework.
