Call for Workshops on CIP Conference Madrid • June 8th 2018 • Unique opportunity to work together with worldwide peers

We look forward to welcoming you at our 5th international conference:
“Better face it – All management is crisis management.
Resilient organisations cope with the future’s challenges.”

This year’s conference will take place on Friday 8 June 2018 in Madrid. If you are interested in joining, please save the date and sign up for news. We will inform you about the programme, speakers, fees and further details in due time.

As we did last year in Lisbon we opt for a formula with keynote speakers and workshops and will work with 3 tracks.

Track 1: Polarization / the new normal?  Are we facing a society were fake news, mass manipulation techniques and propaganda are the norm?

Track 2: Cyber challenges / can we be prepared?  Our fast moving digitizing environment is challenging us all. How can we benefit, and yet be safe navigating this cyber future?

Track 3: Business, crisis and resilience / Today’s managers live in the fast track! All management feels like crisis management. What are the lessons to be learned?

The aim of these workshops is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners in risk management, crisis management, risk communication, crisis communication or any other domain related to risk and crisis. They are a platform to share knowledge and reflect on each other’s  work and offer a unique opportunity to work together with worldwide peers.

Our slots for workshops are limited to one hour. In this hour we present to each other recent work or work around a specific issue with the other experts in the room. Each workshop generates a “workshop deliverable” to be co-created and shared with the members during the conference and afterwards. This can be anything from a member webinar, a small report or a short paper, to a blog post, a diagram, mind map, etc.

Are you ready to add your workshop or presentation to the Madrid Conference programme?
Great! Send us an e-mail now

We gladly welcome your ideas and proposals for presenting and discussing a relevant topic, issue, problem, case, methodology or any kind of research linked to the conference theme.

The conference team created a short form which takes you around 10 minutes to provide us with the bare essentials about your workshop proposal. The input provided in this form will help us to assess its relatedness andvalue to the conference. The conference team in charge of reviewing the proposals will contact you again by the end of December.

Deadline for workshop proposals is 31 December 2017.

Efforts of workshop organizers are highly appreciated, but considered as normal engaged participant activity and, therefore, on a voluntary basis. However, as a workshop organiser you gain the opportunity to (net)work on relevant topics with an enthusiastic and heterogeneous group of international colleague experts and top-notch international keynote speakers in a most inspiring environment. And finally, the results of these workshops are regarded as our conference proceedings and will be provided in our knowledge platform, where all workshop presenters are mentioned as authors.

We look forward to receiving your workshop ideas! If you have any requests or need more information concerning workshops, the conference or CIP Institute, please don’t hesitate to e-mail us.
