Very excited about our upcoming event, we look forward to welcoming you at our 4th international conference on “Managing Crises Today – Insights On Dealing With Complexity”. This year’s conference will take place on Friday 16 June 2017 8.30am-5pm at the University of Lisbon – Faculdade de Psicologia. If you are interested in joining, please save the date and sign up for news. We will inform you about the programme, speakers, fees, flight discounts and further details in due time.
Since our formula of keynote speakers and workshops was highly appreciated by the attendees of our past conferences, we are continuing on the same path. Our ambition this year is to provide even more participation during interactive workshops since this remains one of the main suggestions by the attendees of past editions. The aim of these workshops is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners in risk management, crisis management, risk communication, crisis communication or any other domain related to risk and crisis.
This year, the conference will focus not only on a high level of interactivity, it is also our ambition to generate “workshop deliverables” to be co-created and shared with the members during the conference and afterwards. This can be anything from a member webinar, a small report or a short paper, to a blog post, a diagram, mind map, etc.
Are you ready to add your workshop or presentation to the Lisbon Conference programme?
Great! Send us an e-mail now
We gladly welcome your ideas and proposals for presenting and discussing a relevant topic, issue, problem, case, methodology or any kind of research. As conference committee we then want you to discuss with us the possibilities of conducting your workshop in the highly interactive setting that our conferences are known for. As our mission states and past attendees have indicated: exchanging and developing knowledge by means of participant discussions, collaborations and the co-creation of deliverables are highly appreciated and contribute largely to the success of the conference.
With these workshops we want to enable discussion and exchange of knowledge, expertise and ideas on current and emergent topics amongst the conference attendees. A workshop can address any specific or general challenge. Our aim is that workshop organizers and attendees establish common grounds in practical issues or research areas, while identifying new directions for collaboration and future activity.
Unique opportunity to work together with worldwide peers
Efforts of workshop organizers are highly appreciated, but considered as normal engaged participant activity and, therefore, on a voluntary basis. Being selected for presenting a workshop does not waive the presenters’ conference registration fee. However, as a workshop organiser you gain the opportunity to (net)work on relevant topics with an enthusiastic and heterogeneous group of international colleague experts in a most inspiring environment. Part of the official conference programme you appear amongst top-notch international keynote speakers. And finally, the results of these workshops are regarded as our conference proceedings and will be provided in our knowledge platform, where all workshop presenters are mentioned as authors.
We look forward to receiving your workshop ideas! If you have any requests or need more information concerning workshops, the conference or CIP Institute, please don’t hesitate to e-mail us.
